  21. If you have an account on a Unix machine, you can use "split" to split the
  22. file,
  23. and on the amiga, use the "join" command. I think these are meant for text
  24. files,
  25. but they work just fine for lha's, gzips, etc.
  26. You have to specify how many lines each part will be with split. For HD disks,
  27. I set the number to 5000, which generates chunks of around 1.4 Mb. I guess you
  28. could try 2500 for DD disks, but you may have to experiment a bit.

  30. There are also commercial utils to do the same. With ADPro you got Splitz and
  31. Joinz, in Amiga, DOS, & Mac format for transferring large files via disk.
